Finally...

Today we woke up to snow!

So Kali and I made a snow family!

The one Kali is working on is supposed to be Chole the snow dog.

Kali and I just before Trick-Or-Treating! It was so nice out Kali didn't even have to wear a jacket, just a sweatshirt, what a nice change from most years.

Whoa! Scary Bat!

(Michael forgot to open his eyes)

Me chopping wood on our Junior Girl Scout Camping trip. It looks rustic, huh?

Some of the kids around our "fire" before the rain started.

Lame bloggers... Updates on the last six weeks

Hmmm... What have we done over the last 6 weeks??

Celebrated Kali's Ninth Birthday with cake...

Presents and friends...

Sent Kali and her friends to jail...

And got everyone's nails painted (fingers and toes)...

Kali enjoyed her present from us new bedding and decor... furniture courtesy G-Ma and P-Pa

Just before Kali's Birthday we went to Denver for a night and enjoyed the Botanic Gardens and had pizza with Aunt Sarah. The next day we went to Elitches and had a blast riding everything we could. Michael even rode the Tower of Doom which drops you 200 feet. Ahhh!! Very Scary!

Kali and Sarah playing an intense game of Guess Who? at the pizza place.

The 3 of us in the Japanese Tea Gardens.

Michael and Kali at the doorway to the Japanese Gardens.

Ditto!

A couple of days before we explored the Botanic Gardens, we visited the zoo... check out our cold weather gear. The temperature at the Gardens was at least high eighties, the day we spent at the Zoo must have been fifties and drizzling. Brrr!
Mid June in Colorado gotta love it.

Michael and I caught in a spider web.

Kali and Michael on biggest chair around.

Kali weighing in at 44 pounds... not quite as a big as a gorilla.

Michael and I at the top of the Sky Ride. What a view of the Springs from up there.

Thinking of Aunt Carrie on her Birthday. We really did take these pics and make the sign on Carrie's Birthday we just didn't post them until almost a month later. Sorry Carrie, hope you had a great day!

Kali celebrating the last week of School.

Kali and her friend Lauren before their big performance at the school talent show. They sang Our Song by Taylor Swift in front of everyone at Howbert. They did a great job and weren't even nervous. (but their parents were!)

Incline Fun!

Kali and I about halfway down the Barr Trail.

Kali and Lauren both wiped out a few times on the Barr Trail.
(not on the actual incline, thankfully because I don't know how I would have gotten them down)

Yesterday Kali and I were just hanging out while Michael was at work so I suggested we take a hike and Kali suggested that we hike the incline. We wrangled up her friend Lauren, who has done the incline before, sun screened up and set off. It was super busy and we had to hike up the road past the cog railroad just to get to the incline.

The girls did awesome and I think irritated more than a few of the adults that were hiking up with their energy and speed.

Kali's Bridging to Girl Scouts Ceremony

Kali posing on Michael's Car after the bridging ceremony...

The beautiful cake to commemorate the occasion.

Kali and her fellow new junior girl scouts.

Taking off her Brownie vest to exchange for the junior sash.

So on Friday Kali and her Brownie group had a ceremony at the Rock Ledge Ranch to become Junior Girl Scouts. Who would have thought that we would make it this far?
As Tom pointed out Kali will be nine this year and that soon I will have had her for a third of my life... it just doesn't seem possible.

Mother's Day and other fun projects...

Kali - the boss lady that she is, had all of the kids make this awesome sign for me on Mother's day!

The earrings that I have on Kali gave me for Mother's day. She bought them with her own money, wrapped them in a band-aid tin and gave them to me when I got up. It was very sweet of her. She also made me three cards and one giant poster. I am so lucky!

Sarah and I putting together the work table that Michael got me for Mother's Day!
Michael and Tom started putting it together but then had to give up to make lunch for everyone.

Mom/Grandma bought Kali a hula-hoop last time that Kali stayed the day over at their house. So Kali organized a hula-hoop contest between all of the kids. Kali hula-hooped her brains out - the timer got tired but she kept up for about 15 minutes- no wonder she has abs of steel.

Alina hula-hooping with style.

Garrison hanging out with Tom. Whenever Garrison comes over he asks me, is your dad going to come, I love your Dad Kezia.

Mom and Sarah hanging in the kitchen.

Tom had to supervise Michael barbecuing.

Michael working the grill.

Sarah bought me these beautiful flowers and a Dove chocolate bar (that I hid from Michael). Thanks Sarah!

Mom and my flowers from Sarah!

So I made this cute little ottoman last week, which prompted Michael buying me the work bench because I drilled the ottoman into the floor while I was working on it. ( Yes right in the middle of the living room) Kali was helping me and I drilled a screw in the middle for the button and a few minutes later Kali tried to pick up the ottoman and said Mom you drilled it into the floor. I didn't believe her but lo and behold it was drilled into the floor.
